SQZ doesn't so much arrive as barge through the door. This is deliberately trashy, compressed electronic rock - a buzzing, overblown synth riff hammering away over a pounding drum beat that refuses to apologise for itself. The name is apt: everything here sounds like it's been squeezed through a very small hole at extremely high pressure, which is precisely the point. Guitars have been replaced by snarling synthesisers, the bass is somewhere between a blues riff and an industrial accident, and the drums just keep coming. It's abrasive in the best possible way - the kind of track that makes you feel like something important is about to happen.
