Eyesplit is the kind of metal that gives concerned parents of the 1980s exactly what they were worried about. Huge guitar chugs establish the main riff with the satisfying physical weight of drop-tuned heavy metal, pinch harmonics provide those characteristic pig squeal overtones that are deeply alarming to the uninitiated and deeply satisfying to everyone else, and double kick drums drive the rhythm with the relentless precision that thrash and metalcore demand. The bass guitar is present in the way bass guitars traditionally are in metal - technically there but not really the point. There are solos. There is sweep picking. The entire thing is enormous and completely committed.
