Dirt Road Fever Track

Dirt Road Fever (Larry W. Jones 09/16/2006) (song#4021)
Dirt road fever, a malady I was born with long ago
Dirt road fever, too poor and nothing worth to show
You can tell by the sweat that’s on my forehead
I might as well forget about getting anywhere ahead
These dirt roads are only here to remind me
Ain’t no reason to hurry ’cause I know I’ll be
Dyin’ right here with dirt road fever in my bed
Sometimes I wonder what went wrong
That keeps me singin’ this dirt road song
I sure would like to see some golden shore
Any place from here that I ain’t seen before
Dirt road fever, a malady I was born with long ago
Dirt road fever, too poor and nothing worth to show
You can tell by the sweat that’s on my forehead
I might as well forget about getting anywhere ahead
These dirt roads are only here to remind me
Ain’t no reason to hurry ’cause I know I’ll be
Dyin’ right here with dirt road fever in my bed
Dirt road fever, a malady I was born with long ago
Dirt road fever, too poor and nothing worth to show
This dirt road fever just won’t let me go
