Cowboy On A Stand Track

Cowboy On A Stand (Larry W. Jones 11/13/2006) (song#4142)
I’ll sing you a western song
Of a silver screen cowboy if you want me to
I’ve been singin’ cowboy songs so long
About Roy and Gene and ‘ol Tom Mix too
|
You might of seen me on the Opry stage
Or heard me on the radio
But one thing I know has come with age
I’m not a silver screen hero
|
Cause I’m just a cowboy on a stand
Singin’ songs in a western band
The real heroes are those I see
Sitting in the rows at my feet
A young boy with a crutch, so lame
I wonder why he even came
And a mother with babies too
Smothering them with love so true
I’m not a silver screen hero, m’am
I’m just a cowboy on a stand
|
You might of seen me on the Opry stage
Or heard me on the radio
But one thing I know has come with age
I’m not a silver screen hero
|
Cause I’m just a cowboy on a stand
Singin’ songs in a western band
The real heroes are those I see
Sitting in the rows at my feet
I’m not a silver screen hero, m’am
I’m just a cowboy on a stand
