Cowboy Moon Track

Cowboy Moon (Larry w. Jones 11/29/2006) (song#4190)
The moon is yellow, I’m a happy fellow
The barn dance is getting under way
I’ll be meeting my sweet Betsy soon
Tonight’s the waltz of the cowboy moon
|
Cowboy moon, yellow and gold
Beams of light on the high chaparral
I’ve got sweet Betsy here to hold
We’ll waltz tonight to a cowboy tune
Shine down on us you cowboy moon
|
Carriages and wagons ’round the barn
Tie my pony to a hitchin’ post I see
Walk to the barn where I see Betsy
Darn, her mama’s eyes are on me
|
A horn and a guitar and a rosined bow
Fiddlin’ up every cowboy song they know
Everybody’s dancin’ under moonlight glow
My boots like dancin’ to a waltz that’s slow
|
One more dance to the Cotton Eyed Joe
Take Betsy outside the barn danceroom
Tell her I love her and we”ll marry soon
And we’ll waltz ‘neath the cowboy moon
