Cowboy Dreamer Track

Cowboy Dreamer (Larry W. Jones 11/28/2006) (song#4182)
The yellow aspen leaves have fallen
Valleys hear the snowy winds a-callin’
The snow goose doesn’t mind the Wintertime
An old cowboy ’round the campfire embers
Holds a cup of coffee warm and remembers
All the trails that he had ridden in his time
|
Tomorrow came today, cowboy dreamer
Sorrow came today in dreams of yesterday
|
When I was just a lad in my teens
I had lots of wild and wayward dreams
And yearned to ride the trails of Summertime
Just like the cowboy code
Down all the trails I rode
Dreamin’ of tomorrow, I left yesterday behind
|
Yesterday, tomorrow was so far away
Yesterday I was ridin’ wild and free
Tomorrow came today, cowboy dreamer
Sorrow came today in dreams of yesterday
|
From Laramie to Cheyenne
And down to San Antone
I rode trails without a plan
The open range was my home
In the frontier towns and bars
Never a tear for all my scars
Yesterday, I dreamed only of tomorrow
Sorrow came today in dreams of yesterday
|
Yesterday, tomorrow was so far away
Yesterday I was ridin’ wild and free
Tomorrow came today, cowboy dreamer
Sorrow came today in dreams of yesterday
