Bred In Texas Track

Bred In Texas (Larry W. Jones 11/23/2006) (song#4173)
Back when I was in my younger days
I called at a ranch down Texas way
My heart was beating like the band
There stood sweet Sue, blushing red
She had promised that we would wed
And now I was asking for her hand
|
I told her mother of my story
How our love would be of glory
Her mother put down her needle and thread
She looked at us and smiled and said
|
This girl was bred in Texas
Where bluebonnets grow so blue
Sunshine that warms up Texas
Warms her face and manners too
This girl was bred in Texas
The only thing that I’ll expect is
Is that your love for her is true
|
Now many years have sailed away
But I still remember that sunny day
When to that Texas country ranch I came
And the happiest part of my life
Has been my best friend and wife
The sun that warms her heart is the same
|
This girl was bred in Texas
Where bluebonnets grow so blue
Sunshine that warms up Texas
Warms her face and manners too
This girl was bred in Texas
The only thing that I’ll expect is
Is that your love for her is true
