Badlands Track

Badlands (Larry W. Jones 11/13/2006) (song#4143)
I’m riding toward the badlands
I’m already on my way
Soon I’ll be across the Rio Grande
There’s no time to delay
|
That girl said that she’d wait for me
So, how was I to know
That she’d wed another instead of me
I’m riding toward the badlands
Of Old Mexico
|
The badlands will be my home
Until my days are done
Through the badlands I will roam
Under the Mexican sun
|
My sojourn here has been a failure
There’s no use in shedding tears
I’m using my boots and spurs
Riding away from all my fears
That girl said once upon a time
That love, a lonely heart would cure
But her words wern’t worth a dime
My heart is broken, that’s for sure
|
I’m riding toward the badlands
I’m already on my way
Soon I’ll be across the Rio Grande
There’s no time to delay
That girl said that she’d wait for me
So, how was I to know
That she’d wed another instead of me
I’m riding toward the badlands
Of Old Mexico
