Back In Country Texas Track

Back In Country Texas (Larry W. Jones 09/09/2006) (song#4003)
I still remember the last time
I saw that country Texas sun
Risin’ in its early mornin’ climb
A country Texas day had begun
I still remember the last time
I walked in that warm Summer rain
Wish I was back in country Texas
Back in country Texas once again
Fond memories are tied to that country place
A one room school to guide a freckled face
Carryin’ books for Ruby Ann, it sure was fun
Strollin’ hand in hand in that country Texas sun
Back In country Texas
There’s only this I’ve gotta say
Back In country Texas
I miss that country Texas way
Back In country Texas
Away from all these lonely trials
Back In country Texas
Where country roads run for miles
I still remember that Texas sun goin’ down
Rockin’ on that front porch just outside of town
I still remember a whippoorwill’s lonesome song
Callin’ me back to my country Texas home
Back In country Texas
There’s only this I’ve gotta say
Back In country Texas
I miss that country Texas way
Back In country Texas
Away from all these lonely trials
Back In country Texas
Where country roads run for miles
