Amarillo Slim Track

Amarillo Slim (Larry W. Jones 10/31/2006) (song#4116)
Purple sage on the canyon rim
Palo Duro is the place I long to be
Folks just call me Amarillo Slim
My Palo Duro darlin’s waitin’ for me
|
Today I’m gonna put on my sombrero
Carve her name on a big pine tree
Headin’ where Pan Handle winds blow
My Palo Duro darlin’ I’m gonna see
|
Just a little south of Amarillo
In the land of the armadillo
That’s where I’m makin’ my pillow
Amarillo Slim’s gonna have a jubilee
|
Longhorn cows I’ve been ropin’
You don’t know how I’ve been hopin’
To head back to where I belong
To my Palo Duro darlin’ and home
|
Just a little south of Amarillo
In the land of the armadillo
That’s where I’m makin’ my pillow
Amarillo Slim’s gonna have a jubilee
|
Longhorn cows I’ve been ropin’
You don’t know how I’ve been hopin’
To head back to where I belong
To my Palo Duro darlin’ and home
