Renee Nicole Macklin Good was a 37-year-old mother of three, a U.S. citizen born in Colorado. A poet and writer and wife and mom. A devoted Christian who loved to sing.

She was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis in January 2026, while sitting in her Honda Pilot, shortly after dropping her 6-year-old son off at school.

Six federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigned over the Justice Department's push to investigate her widow rather than the ICE agent who shot her. Her death sparked nationwide protests and disgust.
