Gigakoops started out in 2011 strictly as a chiptune artist, making songs that would be difficult to play in rhythm games. Over the years she's added to her sound, implementing a lot of different genres, most notably electronic, metal, and progressive rock. While her first two albums, "Gigakoops" and "Missing
Chromosomes... and Proud of It" are strictly chiptune, consecutive releases have added more MIDI instrumentation, including MIDI guitars, synths, and orchestras. Now her music can be described as a sort of heavy, progressive take on Nintendocore.
