A folk song, that was written in the early 1980s for the unproduced musical adaptation, "Anne Frank's Diary", for the Mrs. Van Damm character to sing to the character portraying her son, Peter.
(chorus)
"An older man is just perfect
An older man is the best mate
An older man has more experience
An older man is a young girl's fate.
(verses)
"Your father's ten years older than me
And our marriage has been full of joy
I wanted to marry an equal
And not marry a young boy. (chorus)
"Women all know that an older man
Can appreciate their beauty
Men their own age don't understand
How to make a woman happy. (chorus)
"Older men know how to talk
And love romantically
Older men are faithful men
And share feelings more freely. (chorus)
"So Peter don't be ashamed
Of your younger girlfriend, Anne,
For after the War is over
She'll need an older man. (chorus)
