Ten tracks in three groups. Six manouche guitar cuts — restaurant, bar, café and late-night versions of the same trio idea, running from an unhurried eighty-nine beats per minute to a hard-driving hundred and forty-four. Three ragtime piano pieces, all short, two cheerful and one in a minor key that changes the mood entirely. And one electro swing track, the only thing here with a programmed beat.

The manouche six sound alike on paper, so the differences that matter are tempo, length and how hard the strum lands. The slow one is the only guitar track with enough space to sit under narration; the fast one moves the whole way through and will wear you down over an hour.
