Rising Horror Tension for a Jump Scare

A tension riser with a shape: quiet, coiled opening, a long crescendo through the middle, and a top that arrives hard. The rise is steep enough to time a cut to, which is the whole point of a cue like this.
Drop it ahead of a jump scare, a monster reveal, a horror trailer punch or the last beat before a hard cut to black. Trim from the front if you need the payoff sooner than two and a half minutes.
The useful part is the last forty seconds; everything before it is runway. If your scare lands sooner, cut from the front rather than fading in — the crescendo only reads as a crescendo when it keeps its ceiling.
