Chiptune musician based in the south of Spain.
Doing music with old machines such as Spectrum or Gameboy.
I grew up with old machines like the Spectrum and 8-bit consoles. As a teenager, I developed a passion for melodic music, drawing influences from flamenco, heavy metal, and classical genres. I merged my love for music and beeping sounds, becoming an activist for reviving older hardware.
As part of my creative process, I created an alias: Rolemusic, which accounts for my 8-bit music that is freely accessible without restrictions. In the studio, I use emulators on a personal computer, but always making sure that it sounds like I want on real 8-bit hardware. On stage and going live, I rely solely on real hardware. - Rolemusic
Straw Fields - Released 2011
After being introduced to the ZX Spectrum's musical capabilities by Russian demoscene members, I was inspired to create this EP. Blending catchy melodic pop vibes with renaissance melody alike influences, alongside a robust bass and percussion, this project marks my debut release on the Enough Records netlabel. - Rolemusic
gig's n'contest - Released 2013
From 2010 to 2013, I was very active in the Spectrum community, taking part in competitions and live gigs. This compilation features songs I composed for the ZX Spectrum in that period, released as a leftover EP. - Rolemusic
The Pirate And The Dancer - Released 2013
This is my second EP, released on Enough Records. My desire was to create my first conceptual album, blending catchy pop and Latin and Hispanic influences into a love story. I composed the music at the beach using Nintendo's Gameboy as my portable hardware, trying to capture the mood of Atlantic Ocean sunsets. - Rolemusic
The Black Dot - Released 2017
This album is darker and more obscure. I didn't aim for a catchy pop vibe, even though it still has some catchiness. It's divided into three trilogies: the first is catchier, the second is darker, and the third is more pop-like. I made it using Nintendo's Gameboy. - Rolemusic
