Folk song written, performed and produced by Sean Ferree
Well I’d seen you around
But you’d barely make a sound
I didn’t know you’d get me
It won’t turn out like I want it to be
Then you looked at me with those eyes
And every ounce of me slowly dies
I thought I had it all; I thought I had you
All of a sudden you are gone
I didn’t want to think about it, but I knew I was through
I felt it was what I had to do
As I write this song; the tears falling on
You come back like nothing happened
But this weighs on me and the time I spend
I can sit here and make these assumptions
I felt I had no other options
Somehow I knew it was a battle I couldn’t win
The worst part is that I may never see you again
I knew it was the risk I had to take
It started to really take a toll
Here I am with another damn mistake
I knew damn well what was at stake
And now it is my heart I think you stole
I love it when you were there
I did it because I care; I swear
