Rock song written, performed and produced by Sean Ferree
The world is falling in
Far too overwhelmed to begin
So busy; it’s all such a mess
There’s always more, but you get less
I wish you could see this
You just seem to fall back into line
It’s easier for you to dismiss
If you only had more, you’d be fine
You see, no matter how much you win
There will always be that emptiness within
I don’t know who you’re trying to impress
Contentment, you continually repress
I would do anything to help you
My heart falls when I see such a sad smile
I know it’s a cycle that will only continue
I won’t board your train-wreck lifestyle
The joy in life, you can’t comprehend
Your smile and laugh is all just pretend
It all seems like such unrest
Always about money, but not what’s best
You’ve got the idea, but the point is missed
It’s not about the money, it’s about the time
You get a little, but nothing like you wished
Your life is a boring poem with no rhyme
Your life is never too old to amend
But you’re stubborn; always quick to defend
No matter what you have, you’ll still detest
“There is always better land out west”
Nothing is good unless it’s new
Living life, sanding steel with a nail file
I have to go with the read and what I construe
I want to be part of the jury; not the trial
Down the road, I’ll see that it was true
It wouldn’t have been worth grinding through
