Folk song written, performed and produced by Sean Ferree
I will go on
I’ll sit here and play myself a song
And write about all these things I’ve done wrong
It seems all I do is kick myself
I can’t figure out why my life is this way
I try so hard to change
Maybe you’ll see who I am; maybe you’ll like me better
It seems the more I try, the more I push you away
Does it matter knowing that you’ll soon be gone?
I can’t find the words to say
Back the drawing board; introspection
If I could change it; would you have the same reaction?
I get the same result if I don’t change myself
What I do to you seems so strange
The only one that cares is me; in this letter
I don’t why I can’t be like everyone else
The things that bring you up bring me down
I know it is just because sometimes I try too hard
But you won’t help me and it seems so difficult
And it pains me so to sit here and sulk
