It began with four musicians that were caught together by Maria Teplitskaya, and since then she is the
one who is responsible for the organization in the band. One year later in 2014 the band released their self-titled first psychedelic-blues oriented album and started to play gigs. The first one took place at the rehearsal base in the building of the old liquor factory. The second performance took place at the one of the biggest Ukrainian stoner/doom/sludge/psychedelic festivals - Electric Meadow (Lviv, Western Ukraine). During the next year the first guitarist Egor Walovski left the band, and Sergiy Darienko took his place. It changed the sound and music direction a lot. Shortly, Eugene Basul joined the band as the second guitarist that made the sound of the band more complete and filled. For the next 2-3 years the band participated in almost every big genre festival in Ukraine and nearby (Neformat (UA), Winter Mass (UA), Electric Meadow (UA), Psych Fest (RU). For 2 years Maria worked as co-organizer for the Electric Meadow festival. In 2014 drummer Alex Petrov left the band due to that fact music started to become more aggressive and heavier. So new drummer Maxym Sorochuk joined in 2015. In 2015 Mother Witch & Dead Water Ghosts released the second album “Ruins of Faith”, and it came out on CDs and Vinyls with the help of addicted label BNiL (RU, CD), DHU Records (NL, LP), DGRecords (USA, Digital), The Mighty Riff (IN, CD). The second release was heavier and more doomed. That's why it was labeled as occult-doom right away. But as the band states, they never have been choosing a concrete genre, so they have kept themselves transforming and creating music and not a genre. By 2015 the entire line-up was changed, except the bass player. But it wasn’t the last stop in the band’s line up changing. In 2017 drummer Maxym left the band, and another drummer Oleksii Lupashko took his place. He made a huge influence on a band’s sound and rhythm parts. In 2018 Oleksii left the band and Mother Witch & Dead Water Ghosts accepted another drummer Volodymyr Ostapenko who has left the band in 2018 as well. The band moved to Kiev in 2018 partially, and found another drummer Volodymyr Pereginets. Volodymyr joined the band in a very difficult period for the band due to some circumstances and relationships in the band. Also, the band was obsessed with a desire for recording a new album for a long time. It was the main cause for moving to Kiev. So now the band is working on their new album.
