You can fool some of the people all the time. Especially if they want to be fooled. And Don is a master of the fool. Not too hard when half the population has an IQ in double digits and busy trying to survive. They want to be fooled. It's takes less effort than thinking. And then they have their "group" to agree and party with.

Also easy to fool smart people suffering from Dysrationalia: the inability to think and behave rationally despite adequate intelligence. Dysrationalia can help explain why smart people fall for Ponzi schemes and other frauds.

Finally, the Theory of Stupidity. At all times and places a certain portion of the people will hurt themselves and others for no reason. Stupidity is worse than evil because we have no defenses against people acting stupidly. And they are everywhere--in all professions, all walks of life. Independent of IQ or education, people can be stupid. You have probably noticed this but did not know it has be studied and considered extensively.

So, this is America today. Where the 30% MAGA cult are in control. And broke the USA. 70% of us could not stop the idiocy, hatred, stupidity, disrationality, and cruelty.
