Gloomy day in May

An energy that can’t be tamed
Running around the house and he can’t be blamed
For being a cat, a loveable guy
A need to be nuts and to be outside
But when I’m sitting on the patio, guitar in hand, breaking the neck wasn’t in the plans

React quick…or he’s meeting the ground
Grab him….or it all ends now
Jumping the rail in the literal sense
Broke my guitar in the present tense

Almost over the rails
Snagged by the backside then I screamed and yelled
Saved a life and now I’m telling the tale
Of the cat that almost jumped over the….RAIL!
