Eleven café tracks in three groups: three corporate beds, five dinner cuts, and three hard bop numbers with a harder edge than anything else in the café series. The two longest tracks in the album — Hard Bop Coffee Shop and Hard Bop Midnight Club, both three minutes one — are also the only two where FMA's own analysis could not detect a key at all, the mirror image of the three free-time dinner cuts, which keep a detectable key but no measurable tempo. The corporate trio sits close together, ninety-nine to a hundred and twelve beats per minute, with the slowest of the three matching the tempo of Dinner Jazz Sunny Cafe by coincidence — corporate and dinner versions of the same venue landing on the same number. Among the dinner cuts, only two keep any pulse at all: one at ninety-nine, the other at eighty-six, the slowest tempo anywhere in this album. The hard bop trio runs faster and holds the album's only minor-key track, Hard Bop Cocktail Bar in G minor, alongside the fastest tempo here, a hundred and thirty-six beats per minute on Hard Bop Midnight Club.
