Ten tracks of electronic and dance music, five of them carrying "synthwave" in the title outright — plus one melodic techno opener, one warehouse techno closer, a progressive house anthem, a tropical house cue and a short corporate-electronic piece for technology content. Four tracks tie for the fastest tempo in the collection at exactly 136 beats per minute, a striking concentration for a ten-track set. One recording holds three separate extremes at once: the tropical house closer is simultaneously the quietest mix, the widest dynamic range and the slowest tempo in the whole album. And the "short minor cut" synthwave track — minor key, despite the name — turns out to be the single brightest recording in the whole album, ahead of both of its major-key synthwave siblings here: key alone does not predict tone in this set.
