Thirteen bossa cues and one flamenco. The bossa thirteen share a description — warm, major key, busy nylon guitar, soft percussion — so the useful differences are the outliers. One runs three minutes with almost no percussion and the flattest profile here, which makes it the single file that covers a whole segment. One drops the drums to a whisper and is the only track in the album that sits under a voice untouched. One runs at a hundred and thirty-six and actually pushes; the rest drift. One is the slowest at ninety-nine and circles rather than travels.

The flamenco has nothing in common with any of them: driving handclap rhythm, hard-edged Spanish guitar, no let-up for two and a half minutes. It is here because the album needed one track that is not interchangeable.
