Eight tracks, seven ambient and chillout cues wrapped around one genuine outlier — a guitar-led indie rock track that opens the record as a deliberate change of texture before it settles into quieter territory. Two tracks share the album's only minor key, G minor, and nothing else here uses it: a slow sci-fi drone and the zen-garden piece that closes the record, sequenced apart from each other so the second can point back at the first. The most active track on the album is also its most contradictory description — titled "mellow", it is in fact the most percussive recording here and the widest in dynamic range, at a tempo ten beats per minute faster than anything else on the record. At the opposite end, a Tibetan bowl meditation holds both the narrowest dynamic range and the least note activity of the eight, built almost entirely out of decay and silence between struck tones.
