In an effort that recalls some of the best acts from the 1990s like Primitive Radio Gods, Dishwalla, The Refreshments, Tonic, Sponge, Silverchair, BUSH and Gin Blossoms, The New Mystical Troubadours bring something totally new to the table by having perhaps richer and more ameliorative content, but no certifiable hits. A sign of the times? is the new millennium still not prepared for the 90s?
Not quite on par with the sublime sounds of Erskine Hawkins, but somewhere between this upstanding group and the abominable philanderers known as the Red Hot Chili Peppers of present day. The NM TroubaDOORS -- these are the modern "middle-aged professionals" which bring that good old time music to the droves and droves of millennial mp3 seekers -- despite their dubious influences.
Another pastoral and anthemic hit, "Their Need Repair" is making my working day go quicker because it is quickening my pulse with pure psychedelic joyousness!
I can see why the album is entitled "The Summer Bluffs" now. Much like the great Def Leopard's "Hysteria" - it is the best song on the album, hence the album title as well!
Track 2, temperance! Now we're talking... You guys could have been Interpol if this was 1999!
