DIY POP LEGENDS Stephen O'Neil, Frances Gibson, Richard King, Penny McBride, Gavin Butler, and James Dutton phone it in from Bendigo, Australia. Since the Cannanes' first release was named Single of the Year by NME in 1986, they've only gotten better, but no less shambolic or casual. Once described as "the world's most indie band", they could be Australia's Velvet Underground, inspiring countless other bands worldwide. The Cannanes make it sound so easy. (Apologies for that annoying mouse clicking during the first half of this set; I stupidly forgot to turn off my mic.)
