i don't think 48v is much of anything really. it's a simple piece with a very functional use for me. early this summer, i couldn't sleep due to the lawnmowers, street paving, highways, planes, and air conditioners which kept me rustling in my bed. rather than try to ignore these sounds, i decided to make something that would neutralize them; something that did not to drown out the sounds through volume or negate them. the goal was to make something that would work to congeal with the disruptive sounds and create a pleasing whole.
i felt i needed to use these particular sounds and my particular organization of them to work in my environment. i can only hope that it is useful in different locations and for different purposes.
