Soul Afriq is a writer/painter/jeweler/half-assed planner of armed insurrection living in Kisumu. The guy has a massive array of talents and only recently added guitar to the list. He's interested in combining the traditions of the Luo tribe of the area with the more modern artistic styles and ideas of
the city of Kisumu, which is why he often sings in traditional Luo (a language many of the young people are starting to lose). The rasta-man seems to be able to learn instruments at will, and he absorbs books. It's always interesting talking to homeboy about politics, art, ladies, the healing properties of fine herb, and of course music.
