Contact artistIn which we hear about John Ferrier and his daughter Lucy and their meeting Jefferson Hope.
The savage man, the savage beast
Hunger, thirst, fatigue, disease
Each obstacle put in their way
Beaten with tenacity
Utah is their promised land
Ferrier built his house by hand
He toiled at the farming life
Alas he did not take a wife
Though to the elders he was in debt
He remained quite celebate
Lucy grew up, her cheeks so ruddy
Her step was more elastic
Whilst riding out on her mustang
She was really was gymnastic
Flower of Utah riding through the fields
On her mustang strong
She has not a care in the world
You can hear her whistle this song
One day stuck amoung some cattle
She struggled to stay in the saddle
Jefferson Hope saved her from the cows
And in him feelings were aroused
His volcanic heart was stirred
He thought it best to visit her
With Ferrier he'd talk for hours
And Lucy quiet, her heart not hers
But Jeff left to work in the mines
For quite a long amount of time
On his return he'd make Lucy his wife
Together they’d live a healthy life
Flower of Utah riding through the fields
On her mustang strong
She has not a care in the world
You can hear her whistle this song
