Kospel Zeithorn is the one man army project of Lauri Väinölä (Helsinki, Finland), who is also the Wooden Sherpa label runner. "Torus" is his new 30+ mins work, a whole lotta wild improv piece, thick and tight, without any chance for the listener to rest.
"I have been working on this song/album on and off since late last year. It is recorded here in my apartment in Helsinki. I play all the instruments + did the mixing. I had this idea of making an epic long ritualistic piece with many different parts and many instruments (drums, guitars, banjo, percussions, synthesizer, flute etc...) and all kinds of background noises (field recordings inside). I wanted this track to kind of vary between rational and irrational. Not all the instruments "play together" all the time but still they are blending together. Obviously a lot of this is a result of improvising. And surprisingly enough it turned out to be pretty much what I had in mind." — Lauri
