Virtual Music for the virtual community: Die Fenster des Detlev Sierks. It’s about irony and affliction and convenient miracles leading to a happy ending. Mainly a saxophone concert, it is based on classical traditions and experiments with jazz and less popular music. All in one, the structure is somewhat conventional with a soloist on soprano- and tenor saxophone, accompanied by a full orchestra or small instrumental groups like a jazz combo, a string quartet or a drum band. Sometimes one or two additional soloists act as ‘side kicks’ to the principal soloist. All movements of this version of Die Fenster des Detlev Sierks are constructed with samples. In other words: virtual music for the virtual community!
