Two sound pioneers perform separately on Brian's show today, first: Portland, Oregon-based Daniel Menche has been an architect of an amazing variety of experimentation since 1989. Using basic collected sounds from completely open sources, his manipulations and layerings focus in identifying core elements in each sound utilized, showcasing its found energy upfront and transforming the sounds in a way much more imaginatively and mapped out than your average noise artist. Menche's wonderful blog also documents his running of one of the most organized, picturesque elementary school libraries in the world, as well as the day to day exploits of his kickass dog, Arrow. Be sure to see Arrow commanding nature and the elements at Daniel's blog.
