Album Description

A Netlabel Day 2019 ExclusiveA new release from Brevyn with soothing melodies. Soft electronics and sparkling keys evoke reflection and conjure up an air of mystery in nature.Words from the artist:"Gemstone Study is a set of short keyboard pieces based around the synth-bell timbres common in 80s-90s new age and
their association with gems and crystals. I’m not sure when I’ll do a Volume 2, but I call it Volume 1 because it struck me as a novel idea for a series, with new gemstones for every set. You’re guaranteed to hear a lot about crystals if you research new age music. A big fan of just about any bell-ish/’crystalline’ sounds myself, I decided to name each song after a gemstone and unite them through similar structure and sound palette (all rhodes or synth bells plus one or two flutes, all electronic). I was aiming for that hypnotic slow-build sound you hear in a lot of the private press/meditation cassettes from the era."Bandcamp - Soundcloud - Wordpress - Tumblr - Twitter -
