The battle was fought and silence spread over the field.
Thick smoke only gave a glimpse of a broken shield.
The king and his knights lay slain on the battle ground,
The cawing of ravens was the only audible sound.
All we lucky survivors went an uncertain path,
how long would it take to heal the aftermath?
And the old seer spoke on a meaningful night:
The uprooted will have to follow the northern lights.
And the Northern Lights lead us into no man's land,
as displaced ones we felt our fortune close at hand.
Untouched nature with clear lakes so wide and fair,
Peaceful lush land, inviting us to stay there.
Then we settled down in the prettiest place we could find,
That new beginning was helpful to leave dark thoughts behind.
Our harvest so rich, all we did need was right at hand.
But in search for a name we left it at "No Man's Land".
So the years went by but once on a cold winter`s day
a crowd of people appeared and asked us if they could stay.
We struggled to stay calm as we knew them all too well,
but gone seemed their greed that made our lives a living hell.
A big flood washed away everything they had seized -
The conquerors of old are now just refugees.
Above the blood of the gone, we took a brother's hand
And buried a rusty sword in the sand of No Man`s Land...
