Coughy as a project has it’s beginning at the end of 2009 following a spontaneous performance at an underground location in Bucharest, between Vlad Stoica (synth + samplers), Ovidiu Bejan (guitar + vox + effects) and Augustin Nicolae (bass + effects). All three were yearning to free themselves of any stylistic and conceptual constraints.
In late 2010, citing growing differences, Vlad is kicked out of his former band and concentrates on developing this new concept. Seeing a better compatibility during performances, Coughy becomes a duo, comprising of Vlad and Ovidiu. Performances follow in Bucharest locations and festivals such as Atelierul de Productie, Casa Lupu, Control Club, Berlin Club, Sala Dalles, Londophone, Waha Festival etc.
