An icaro is a sacred healing song used in Amazonian shamanic traditions — especially among the Shipibo-Conibo people of Peru, and other mestizo and Indigenous curanderismo traditions in the Amazon basin (Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil).

Icaros are sung or whistled melodies used by a curandero (healer) or ayahuasquero during ayahuasca ceremonies. They're considered a form of vibrational medicine — the belief is that the songs directly interact with the spirit of the plant medicine, the participants' energy, and the spirits of the forest, rather than just being performance or accompaniment.
