Description
Savoy Motel, the new band from Cheap Time's Jeffrey Novak, might seem like something of a curveball for those expecting more of the Nashville artist's twisted glam punk. Yet the band, which also features members of Music City's Heavy Cream, is in perfect keeping with Novak's mining of the lesser genres of decades past--this time around offering a detached yet decidedly funky revamp of that brief, nebulous moment when glam, funk, disco, and art rock all sort of collapsed in on one another.
