This song was written by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby, who also wrote "Hooray For Captain Spaulding" from the Marx Brothers film, Animal Crackers, which later became Groucho Marx's theme song on You Bet Your Life. There's an MGM musical about Kalmar and Ruby, Three Little Words, starring Fred Astaire and Red Skelton.
