Chie Mukai live on WFMU's Miniature Minotaurs with Kurt Gottschalk:
Chie Mukai has been involved in improvised performance since 1975, when she participated in the East Bionic Symphonia group and later the Marginal Consort. Her haunting vocals and er-hu playing defined the acoustic psych band Che Shizu who recorded for the PSF label in the '90s. Since then she has worked with Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Los Angeles Free Music Society, Jim O'Rourke and former Boredoms guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto, and has released a recording of drone-based Ramones covers. She also organizes the annual Perspective Emotion mixed media arts festival in Tokyo, and will be performing solo, and live, on Miniature Minotaurs. -Kurt Gottschalk
