Album Description
Ami Dang seems to draw as much
inspiration from Bollywood, Sikh hymns and North Indian classical music
(she's trained in both voice and sitar) as from the fertile sounds of
her native Baltimore (home to everything from Nautical Almanac to
Scottie B). Her album Hukam -- released earlier this year on Ehse Records on vinyl, cd, and pay-what-you-want download -- has been in rotation on WFMU and on the Free Music Archive.Ami Dang is joined by K8 from Teeth Mountain / Dan Deacon Ensemble on percussion, including Roto Toms.
Ami + K8 return to NY on August 25th to play
