Meet Koi-discovery

KOI is the acronym of Kepler Object of Interest: a spatial mission with the telescope Kepler, on the mission to discover exoplanets where we can one day to go. My first target is to share my music.

This is for me the more important thing: art is above all a means of universal expression. This is a symbolic target: find another place to be, perhaps a better place. My ship is a conceptual vehicle, music. - Koi-discovery

The title of the album sums up the psychic moment at the moment of creation: the transformation at a later moment. How to reach the outcome without a model?

All of my songs got a picture: painting, drawing or photos. I like to make links about different supports. The third dimension: the text.

I often play instrumental songs, sometimes with an old voice recording or sample or talk extract. The text gives a little indication of the mood, maybe a help for the listeners to let their imagination create their own story, own travel, own discovery. - Koi-discovery

Obligatory return. To think of birth not as a starting point, but as an abstract moment. Allowing the contingency to take shape, at least in part.

My recording method is a mixing between a live session and a traditional recording. I use many loopers and drum machine to drop the foundation of the song. After that, I add many tracks, sometimes until 32 tracks. - Koi-discovery

I don’t use computers. All instruments are real, the mixing and the final mastering are made with a numeric table, and only for exporting, I use a computer.

I published 9 albums within 2 years, I think I’ve got a lot of things to say. My music style is complicated to define, probably I am registering in an electro-rock-progressive tendance, but often my jazz origin comes back in my composition.
