I started playing music as early as I can remember. I grew up in a very musical household and there were always musical instruments available. I took mostly to the drum set, guitar, and piano in my formative years.
For my recording process, I go with a gut instinct; mostly the first few takes are usually kept, but not always. First impressions are encouraged throughout my writing process. I often hear within the first few parts of the sketch leading to more direction of the finished idea.
Chapman 8-String Guitar gets a lot of use, no matter the genre. Bass guitar. Novation Impulse Piano/Midi Controller. Roland TD12 set. I use a vast array of hand percussion drums, some goat skins, and some Toca products. I use AKG microphones for hand drums, acoustic guitars and vocals. For programs, I use mostly but not limited to Reaper, FL Studio, Presonus Studio One, and Pro Tools.x. - Jon Shuemaker
ANOKA VOL.3 - Released 2017
