Here we go again! Net Neutrality is at risk, and we're coming together to push the FCC to preserve a neutral net. In the spirit of "THIS AGAIN?!" we have delved back into the FMA's own podcast archive and pulled a bunch of samples from our podcast about Net Neutrality from 2014 with Michael Weinberg from Public Knowledge (back then - he now works for Shapeways, and we interviewed him about IP and 3D Printing too). We've released the following soundbytes using CC0, so we encourage you to remix them to your heart's desire!
Our friends at ccMixter are joining the fray - if you want to contribute to the music-making process over there, find out how you can Remix Net Neutrality.
Need stems or other bits of audio to use? No prob! We have a few beat pack and stem packs (Loop Mania, Bonus Beat Blast, Not Drunk) and of course there are tons of resources for this purpose over at ccMixter.org and freesound.org.
Of course, you're also welcome to grab something from our vast Public Domain/CC0 collections and mix with those, including our microSong Challenge and Masters Remastered Challenge, all of which have been released into the public domain by the goodwill of FMA artists and contributors!
TO SUBMIT VIA FMA, EMAIL US.

The Free Music Archive and Prelinger Archives recently mixed their parts together and produced 122 strange and beautiful remix children. Though everyone's a winner when we contribute new and interesting works to the commons, some of our video remixes were especially full of winning.

When two open digital libraries fall in love... this happens.
For our on-going video remix contest, the Free Music Archive and Prelinger Archives asked you to show us what video mashups of our collections would look like. From Betty Bop dancing the Charleston to modern jazz, to 1906 San Francisco set to dubstep... our remix children are deeply disturbing, abstract, violent, beautiful, and often half-naked.
We dare you now to find a comfortable chair in a dark room and watch all 122 entries. If you see one you like, log into the website, and click the thumbs up. You can vote for multiple videos, but only once. All voting will wrap up by 5pm ET on Monday, November 25th. The winner of the popular vote will take home an iPad.
So journey on, little monkeys! Vote now, and help natural selection determine the fittest.

Now presenting our new HTML5 audio player! It looks exactly the same as it did before, but it can now stream the FMA music you adore using most mobile browsers.
We recommend using it in Chrome or Safari on your iOS (e.g. iPhone, iPad) or Android devices. There are a few exceptions that we're still working on. As of this blog post, the new player doesn't work on mobile Opera (iOS + Android), mobile Firefox (Android), or Android's stock browser. Leave us a comment below if you have specific feedback on how our new player is performing.
If you really, really adore this new functionality, you should send a love letter to the guy who built this for us.
Don't have a mobile device like all the other hip dogs and cats? If you enter our video remix contest with the Prelinger Archives you might just win an iPad! The deadline for entries is November 4th at 11:59pm ET.
