Radio Free Culture #28: The Music Manumit Meta-Podcast Podcast, part II

WFMU and the Free Music Archive are proud to present a new season of Radio Free Culture, a weekly podcast exploring issues at the intersection of digital culture and the arts.

In this episode, Cheyenne Hohman, RFC host and current Director of the FMA, spoke with Tom Ray and Doug Whitfield, co-hosts of the Music Manumit podcast, a source for Creative Commons music and news. This week's episode discusses the Music Manumit podcast itself (and podcasting), which gets a little meta, but we think you can handle it.

They also curate a page here on FMA - check it out

Check out the podcast here, or subscribe to the podcast here (via iTunes).

In our interview with headphonica you'll hear their reasoning on using the -NC license and the extra freedoms they provide live DJs.  Make sure you check out their curator page too.

In our interview with Bad Panda Records hear Claudio's plans for world domination and check out the tunes with which he plans to do it.  You can check out more of the "bad" music on their FMA curator page.

You'll also hear some discussion of German football favorites St. Pauli as well as Italian giants Juventus and AS Roma.

St. Pauli stands against racism.

If you're a curator that releases music under a remixable CC license and would like to set up an interview, drop us a line here, on facebook or leave us a voicemail at (512) 686-6329.
