Channel Surfing - "Paradox In The Bathroom" [LBN039]

Channel Surfing - "Paradox In The Bathroom" [LBN039] (April 29, 2017)

Channel Surfing is a quasi-vaporwave project. Meaning that it predates vaporwave, and was initially influenced by the glitch and idm scenes of the 90′s and early 2000′s. With Channel Surfing, the focus is on microhouse and shoegaze. On ‘Paradox In The Bathroom’. . . I took a detour, and focused on lyrics. This time, it was the political solitude of an uncertain future. The in-between moments, of both turmoil and tranquility in America. Sonically, ‘Paradox’ uses Sound Design as a songwriting tool. Drum machines were treated like synthesizers, field recordings were processed like guitars. It is a very environmental spin on the “rock formula”. Channel Surfing is the band from the Mojave Desert. The locus of Channel Surfing is “Ethereal Synthesis” in all it’s various forms. From album to album, the locus changes, falling together or falling apart, but the same ethereal techniques apply in different ways. Sometimes, outspoken and political, other times, quiet and interspective. Enjoy. . .

Neon lights and shiny beats

Another Friday, another upload to Free Music Archive. This week, we visit the neon lights and shiny beats of Taseh's Dekotora. Released back in December 2012 by Monster Jinx, the album is a cool mixture of edgy electronic music with fresh glitch influences. Even though it includes some sounds for the most lovey-dovey, it's more like one for the adventurous souls out there.

Dekotora is published under an Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike Creative Commons licence, which means you can use it on your non-profit projects, as long as you credit the artist and share your work under the same licence.

I Meant To Break Your Will, Never Your Heart

Recently I released an album entitled “I Meant To Break Your Will, Never Your Heart”. This album was originally finished in October of 2013 and was scheduled to be my first physical release. Due to various issues the album has sat dormant during that time. With the release for physical product still several months off I have decided that I would prefer to get the album out an into the world as soon as I was able. I realize this release comes very shortly after my last album “Come On, Ghost." but I believe the two albums represent polar opposites.

I believe this album represents some of my heaviest and noisiest material to date. The album is mostly composed of bitwise operations in Supercollider with some additional production in Reaktor and Reaper.

Circuits Imprimés: 3 Compilations to Celebrate 5 Years of Netaudio

Based in Nîmes, France, our DIY netlabel Pavillon36 Recordings is celebrating 5 years of abstract, IDM, dubstep, drum & bass & breakcore releases. As an anniversary gift for everyone, we're offering three compilations called "Circuits Imprimés," which is French for "Printed Circuit Board."

Circuits Imprimés Vol. 01: A collection of tracks picked up from other netlabel collections as a tribute. This songs, artists and labels inspired us create Pavillion 36 and to start making our own great music for free. We hope you'll discover some music you've missed from past years in this mix, though for us these are all classics.

Circuits Imprimés Vol. 02: New and unreleased tracks by our main artists including Anagramm, Le Perche Oreille & Kez Le Zek to name a few. From IDM/Glitch to Drum & Bass, this is the essence of our netlabel.

Circuits Imprimés Vol. 03: For this release we invited some of our favorite artists to make their own 'PCB' sound to celebrate 5 years of our netlabel. Abstract, IDM, Glitch or whatever the style, you'll find on this final volume some great interpretations of what we call "Circuits Imprimés." We hope we have succesfully connected all these electronic components together to create a complex circuit. These 'PCB' tracks are not intended to be printed only on your hard drive, but to be printed on your brain.

J U L Y - last month review Mix

These are some of the tracks that ran on the nights of winter from South America, in those hidden corners of high culture and dance. J  U  L  Y  was for me a month of great cultural activity, where I played and ran the most valuable blog posts. From the quiet sound of the beat instrumental, bass and a little less-fast footwork, the shows aim to make you vibe and also, function as an information channel, data fully exposed on the most creative artists in their work.

J  U  L  Y is the winter melancholy in Buenos Aires and, at the same time, the warmth of the people sweating in confinement, the dance floor, your ears on headphones, maybe a good book accompanying you.Enjoy everything that happened in   J  U  L  Y, and put it in the months ahead because there are many artists to investigate.

Alpha Pup records is a Label that I use. They have a big activity and excellent artists that Im following. They host artists puttin their magic in this month like Ages, the people who open this new set with “Fog” a Nosaj Thing cover. Because we come from Nosaj Thing worlds with the last June set, the Ableton Contest of Nosaj samples. There is DOT, Virtual Boy and a lot of incredible music.

I highlight the excellent label Curious absurdities, who support high creative artists as Girls On Drugs, and Aplot. I enjoyed a lot in the mixtures of these sweet and energetic songs that were introduced in between panics sounds of dance floor. Nobody felt overwhelmed, all continued dancing, it speaks a lot of intelligent content.

Near them, you can hear a mysterious appearance from the Italy Demian Oid, full of color and life playing in a round trip, one of one, with two of his favorite tracks: “Velvet Ghost” And “MasterPiece”.

Snubluck do it again, appear for the third time in my lists. He really can’t stop it.And finally, among the highlights, and approaching the footwork, I met Branko from MadDecent compilation, which I completely glue his two tracks “We’ll be fine” and “Going in Hard”, accompanied at the same time and opening the entrance to an artist of great renown as Pixelord, who were all could through Soundcloud download a little old set (“Footpork”), maybe opened from a dusting box of memory, labeled with “principles of this genre”.Do not stop listening to these artists and enjoy the mix!
