Tracky Birthday's favorite Upitup tracks 2010

Dear friends, fans, enemies, room mates, internet buddies,
a great year is coming to its end. Again we have tried our best to serve you as much of our music as we could, and to be as good and new and interesting and worthwhile and fancy and funny and special as possible.
Considering the fact we all have daytime jobs (and secret identities) we are quite content about this year's outcome. We would like to thank everyone who helped us carry the torch for the free music cause, you know who you are.

KEXP 2010 FMA Highlight Mixes

So many incredible artists have played live on KEXP this year, from top local Seattle artists like Damien Jurado and Black Stax, to those of international renown like Vieux Farka Touré, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Beach House, and Devendra Banhardt. The venues have ranged from KEXP's 90.3-FM headquarters in Seattle, to the Cutting Room Floor in New York City (where KEXP programming airs on 91.5-FM), to live events like Bumbershoot, SXSW, and the Capital Hill Block Party.
We've put together seven mixes that offer some of the many highlights from KEXP's live performances:
KEXP 2010: Worldwide -- 2010 marked the 25th anniversary of "The Best Ambiance" hosted by Jon Kertzer, and these were just a few of the many recent highlights:
KEXP 2010: Shimmering Pop -- these artists bring a fresh, irresistable approach to pop music
KEXP 2010: Rock! -- classic artists like The Wedding Present and The Posies, contemporary heavy-weights like Drive-By Truckers and The Hold Steady plus up-and-coming artists like White Mystery and Love Is All...

dublab x FMA: Best of 2010

dublab had such an amazing year! In addition to turning 11-years-young, we expanded our echo with live broadcasts from London, Japan, Belgium & beyond! Additionally, we recorded so many incredible international artists in 2010, we had no choice but to assemble a list of our favorites. We also thought it'd be a great idea to debut a BRAND NEW set from one of our favorite far-out crooners, Brogan Bentley. We know these super-inspiring Sprout Sessions (3 hours of them!) will keep you turned-on for days!
Huge thanks to our fantastic friends over at the FMA (we're looking at you Jason!) for being so supportive and allowing us to share some of these far-out files with all of you. We're looking forward to bringing you way more audio action in 2011, and hope your ears are as excited as we are!
Thanks again for tuning in - & HAPPY 2011!

Dying For Bad Music - Best of 2010 - FMA and General Edition

So here is my final FMA Bestof2010 mix. FMA is a great ressource and it's always a pleasure to find some awesome music here. Often enough I've found an artist by listen to WFMU Radio. So WFMU is the first instance which preselect and give a starting point to dig deeper.
And if you don't mind, I invite you to listen to my general Top 20(10) list of the Dying For Bad Music blog. It's a good mixture of free music by independent artists and releases of more well known artists. This shows that quality is not depending on record deals and label contracts. So I hope you enjoy the mixtapes. Have a further reading on Dying For Bad Music (and discover much more free music)
I have to honour FMA as a well developed webapplication too. I like the userinterface and the handling. (Even if I have some points on my wishlist ;-)) Good work!
