Sunn O))) is the black/death/drone collaboration of Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. The duo explores the far reaches of metal, from the quiet and meditative to the occasionally explosive. Their live performance is marked by ghostly "grim robes," abundant fog, and excessive volume. Sunn O))) operates under heavy influence from the '90s sludge giants Earth. They are pioneers of modern drone-metal and enjoy a popularity not privvy to most bands of their genre.
