Two years after the release of
"Meccani$mo" (upfree14), Pierlo is back in time with "
Saturday Night Sleeper", a 30 minute-long album containing 10 completely new tracks by Upitup's founding father.
Compared to his previous album, the musical style has thouroughly gone under deep reconstruction - far away from what Pierlo has been doing until now - witha fancy flair of dancefloor-combatible beats sorrounded by Pierlo's typicaltouching melodies and restless basslines. "It's not that I'm actually taking the distance from what I've been doing until now," - says Pierlo - "rather that I've finally realized how important it is to be able to establish a direct connection with the audience when playing live, performing music that can be enjoyed in real-time and not treating them like if they were listening to the stuff with headphones in their salon". Livesets being a key aspect of his musical production approach, Pierlo has developed a unique blend of newish disco and put it under the uncool name of "Nerdstep". Uncool!
